Description:
Most commonly silver gray, blue
gray, to brownish grey matrix with iridescence (schiller) of
orange, yellow, blue, and green when the stone is moved in the
light.. Spectrolite background (matrix) is black. Occurs mainly
in igneous and metamorphic rocks.

6-6.5
Found:
Canada, Finland, Madagascar,
Norway, and Russia.
Healing
Properties:
Detoxifies the body and assists
in anti-aging.
Astrology:
Labradorite - is associated with
the signs of Sagittarius, Scorpio, and Leo. Associated with the
Winter season, and the January Moon (Wolf Moon). Spectrolite -
is associated with the signs of Aquarius and the Moon and
Uranus.

Legends and
Folklore:
Labradorite was originally
discovered in on St. Paul Island, Labrador, Canada in 1770.
Pieces of the stone were found amongst the artifacts of the Red
Painted People of Maine. Spectrolite was discovered in Finland
during World War II. It is considered to be the gem quality of
Labradorite. |
