Ranges from light red to rose red to pink, often with black spots and veins. Has a tabular crystal structure. Present in manganese and iron-ore veins.

Argentina, Germany, Romania, Sweden, USSR, Brazil, Australia, and California, Oregon, and New Jersey/USA.

Healing Properties:

Said to help with the nervous system, thyroid, as it strengthens the immune system. It increases self esteem and balances trauma. Also thought to be a love rescue stone.

Connected with the signs of Taurus, Leo, and Pisces.

Legends and Folklore:

The name is derived from the Greek word "rhodon" (pink) and "chros" (color). It is referred to as the Inca Rose by the Incas who believed the blood of their rulers turned into this stone. This stone is found in Argentina and Hotazel, South Africa.
