Tips
for cleaning Sterling Silver
This first one is a polish free method… Put two sheets
of aluminum foil in your sink, shiny side up. Fill the sink with enough boiling
water to cover the silver. Add a couple of tablespoons of baking soda a pinch
of salt and stir.
Place
your silver in the water solution for about five minutes.
Make sure each piece of silver touches the aluminum foil.
After five minutes, rinse off the silver and let it dry
naturally. Each piece will sparkle without rubbing or
polishing!! This is for SILVER ONLY,
with no stones.
_____
This
one takes more elbow juice… Apply
a thin layer of toothpaste to your silver. Rub off
in small circular motions with a soft cloth. Simple
and economical! This is for SILVER ONLY, with
no stones.
Always
keep your silver in a pouch or plastic bag. Add
a piece of aluminum foil to the pouch or bag to keep
it even shinier. Get as much air out of the bag as
possible. This works with or without stones.
Use
a polishing cloth on the Sterling Silver only ,
never on natural stones such as Marcasite, Opal, Pearl,
Onyx or Abalone. It can ruin the finish of the natural
stones.
No
swimming or bathing with Marcasite or Natural Stone
Jewelry!
Many
times the stones are glued in and can pop out if
they get wet.
