Properties:
Malachite is said to strengthen
the heart and circulatory systems of the body. It has been used
to treat cholera, asthmatic diseases, and thyroid gland
diseases. It is said to balance the body and mind.

Associated with Capricorn and
Scorpio. It is the gemstone of the June moon (Mead Moon) and it
is the stone of the planet Uranus. It assists in inventive
thought processes and new ideas.

Folklore:
The name Malachite is derived
from the Greek word "Malakhe" which means marshmallow plant
because of the green color. This stone has a long history with
the Egyptian cultures going as far back as 4000 B.C. when it was
heavily mined near the Suez Canal. The stone was used for many
different forms of ornamental applications such as in statues
and jewelry. One unique use was in makeup the Egyptian women
used as eye makeup. The stone was often referred to as the
Peacock Stone because of the eye like pattern it has which
resembles the eye like pattern of peacock feathers. |
