Are Diamonds a girls best friend?

Well I actually googled that... This subject goes back to the 18th Century. If you were a lover of a wealthy count or duke you weren't given money as gifts. This woman would receive gems and jewelry for repayment of her services. These services were not just sexual.  She would also have to be educated and be able to hold a conversation with royalty. Usually she would gather enough jewelry to comfortably retire once she lost her beauty.

I googled further and found....yes, a diamond is a girls best friend however a guy's best friend is his dog. That, I thought was cute! Why chatting about diamonds, it is the April birthstone.

Most people are probably aware of it's toughness, it's structure makes it 58 times harder than anything in nature and can only be cut by another diamond.

Diamonds come in several colors, yellow, pink, blue and green.

Diamonds have been admired for centuries and some historians estimate they were traded as early as 4 BC. One of the reasons they are so admired and valued is because the process by which a diamond must be formed-well below the earth's crust, then forced upward until it is uncovered.

Throughout history, the diamond has nearly always symbolized eternal and lasting love.
