925 Sterling Silver 1mm Rhodium Plated Box Chain, Made in Italy - - Lobster Claw Clasp - Size 16"-36"

Purchased the 20” 1.5MM Rhdoium box chain to replace my 18K white gold Italian chain necklace that recently broke. Decided to try this designer after reading the positive reviews and their lifetime guarantee.The chain is not flimsy at all. The pendant I attached is lightweight but had a small loop and I wasn’t sure if it would fit. No problem fitting and it looks better than the more expensive chain.

I haven’t worn this chain yet but it’s beautiful. I’m waiting to have an adjustment made on an earring to wear as a pendant so I’ll give an update after wearing for a while.

Still have it on and ppl asking me where I purchased. And I am an everyday jewelry wearer, in the shower etc. as a girl I am taught to never take my jewelry off unless to clean and that is once every two months

Chain is attractive and appears sturdy. Researched rhodium plating before purchase...cleaning is different but additional plating adds to durability. I wear it with a very light weight pendent and never remove it. Intentionally bought box chain for its strength. Time will tell if chain handles daily wear.

Only complaint would be that the soldered loop that the clasp hooks into is quite small, which is fine when adding a pendant, but I had to buy an extra ring to add to that part.

The chain is beautiful and the size was perfect, but there was a defect. When I first opened it I was so excited to be able to wear my pendants again but that excitement quickly fell. While running the chain through my fingers I found a section about 2" long that was stiff. Puzzled by this I spent time trying to move the chain and this section did not bend freely at all. I tried to work the chain back and forth a couple times and resulted in bent kinks like a piece of wire would do. The rest of the necklace moved fine, but that one section would not move without stiffness. I sat for about 20 minutes just trying loosen it up, but it did not help much. That section remains stiff and scratchy against my skin. I am afraid to keep playing with it for fear that it could break. My only guess is there was an issue with the plating causing this section of links to stick together. I am very sad.

Thank you so much! I love my chain. I only ordered on line because we just got a more strict stay at home order in Chicago. So even though I knew this would be a difficult fit I went on line. I needed a very thin end piece to make it through a tiny bail that my jeweler accidentally made too small. I looked on line at feedback and there was an answer to one client saying that the smallest chain ends were 1mm with a link right to it. I clicked it and a beautiful box chain popped up. It said it would take like ten days to be delivered but it came in TWO days. I was able to wear it to my Mom's as I was taking her Thanksgiving dinner to her. The chain is holding my new memorial piece from my fathers jewelry collection. It's a beautiful rhodium plated (for shine) real Sterling silver chain. I love it!

I absolutely LOVE this company's sterling silver chains and own 8-10 of them in different lengths and styles. They are real sterling silver, though, so they tarnish over time. Thus, I was thrilled to see rhodium plated options available and immediately bought a 20" one for the pendant I wear daily. Unfortunately, the color is not shiny or bright, but more of a matte finish. I thought maybe it was an anomaly b/c I have a rhodium plated ring I wear often that is very shiny/bright so I ordered another rhodium chain in a different length. Same thing. So I'll stay with the non-rhodium version and keep cleaning off the tarnish. If you've got the right cleaning cloth, it's fairly quick anyway. But this company's chains are excellent quality. The box chain is my favorite, but their other styles are quite nice too. And importantly, my long hair does not get caught in the chain or clasp even when I sleep in them.

I bought this box chain for my sister to wear with a pendant. She has had a stroke and can’t open the clasp on any of her chains. I decided on the box chain because it is a sturdy chain which can be slipped over her head avoiding the need to open the clasp. The 24” length turned out to be a perfect length allowing her to slip the necklace on and off. She is very happy with her new chain. Not only is the box style strong, it is also beautiful with the rhodium plating which makes it look like white gold. No muss no fuss! Problem solved! Also, the 1mm is the perfect size to insure that the presentation is feminine looking while placing emphasis on her pendant and not on an ostentatious chain. I just received my order from DSS that I placed only two days ago. I eagerly opened the boxes, and viewed my new treasures. Last week a chain broke with a pendant that I have worn nearly daily since I got it 5 years ago in Hawaii. I couldn't stand the thought of not wearing it again, and so began my hunt for a new chain. I could have bought cheaper, but the reviews for DSS were so amazing and consistent. I decided that it was worth it to go with them. But, not only did I buy a chain for Hawaiian pendant, I also bought chains for 4 more pendants. I'm glad I did. I now have chains for a pendant that was my mother, a gemstone of mine that I haven't worn in years, and two gemstones a friend made for me. I'm already planning to wear what.All five chains were brilliant silver. And for the width and length, each felt very sturdy and exceedingly well made. Each pendant looks fantastic on the chain. And as others have said, each came packages individually in a box with cleaning instructions anti-tarnish spots, and a mini-cleaning kit. Since I ordered 5 at once, they didn't have give me 5 mini-kits, but they did anyways.If you need a chain for a special pendant, or a gift or just to wear as is, shop no further Designer Sterling Silver. This chain is beautiful! I bought this to replace the chain on a necklace I had gotten for mothers day that had already broken. It was packaged well, and it even comes with little baggies for other pieces. It is sturdy, and has a good thickness to it but not bulky. I havent taken it off since I got it, and the clasp is still holding strong. BONUS for customer service! Shortly after I received my necklace I also received a personal email from them making sure there were no issues with my purchase. Very sweet! Great product, great company that wants to take care of their customers. I will purchase from them again!

As I said, I had hoped the chain would be "thicker" or sturdier. Was a bit thin for what I wanted to use it for. Yes, I know that they posted the size on the sales page but that really doesnt mean a whole lot to someone who isn't fluent in jewelry chain sizing. Not a bad chain. Just too flimsy for what I needed it for.

My husband bought me an eeyore necklace from the Disney store and the chain that came with it was awful. So I bought this box chain to replace it.This is a beautiful chain. It is sterling silver plated with rhodium. So the necklace is super shiny. The lobster claw is very nice for the weight of the necklace. It holds my charm which is full and heavy very well.The seller sent instructions and a special bag to put the necklace in to help keep it shiny.I will be buying more at different lengths in the future.
